Peer Support Policy

As part of the wider school welfare program, Peer Support operates to help develop confidence, communication skills, group facilitation techniques, interpersonal skills, strategies for decision-making, problem solving and conflict resolution, and cooperation and tolerance.

The program involves Years 10 and 11 leaders and all Year 7 students at our school.  The formal program operates one period per week during Term 1, with a follow-up games afternoon and barbecue.

Years 10 and 11 leaders receive two days’ training by staff trainers during term 4 of their Year 10.

This program is considered to be equally beneficial to Year 7 participants, as well as, Years 10 and 11 leaders.
