Students' Representative Council

SRC Mission Statement

The Students' Representative Council of Epping Boys High School aims to serve and represent the student body, providing a diplomatic channel for the voicing of student ideas and opinions, support students in co-curricular involvement and serve the broader community.

Members of the Students Representative Council (SRC) at Epping Boys High School are elected solely by the student body.  There are seven representatives from Year 7, one from each class, and four representatives from each year in Years 8 and 9, five representatives from Year 10 and six representatives from Year 11.

President 2009:         Nischal Manjunath

Vice-President 2009:  Valiant Warzecha

Treasurer 2009:         Neil Kumar

Secretary 2009:         Frank Chin

The SRC has a budget of $5000 garnered mainly from soft drink machines in the canteen.  With these funds and others raised by various activities throughout the year, the SRC is able to contribute to the amenities of the school, support various sporting teams or outstanding individuals in a wide range of extra-curricular endeavours.  The SRC is working at ways to more effectively communicate and air issues of student interest to the school policy makers for clarification and improvement in 2009.

We have four representatives on the Hills and Hornsby Network Students' Representative Council Inter-school Group.  This group meets to discuss student issues and promotes student leadership in schools. In 2009 the SRC organised a website so it can more effectively communicate with the students it represents.

The SRC is scheduled to meet twice a term and its major project for the term is to focus on promoting the school's House System by organising various competitions for students to take part in.

The big item on the SRC calendar which takes place in mid-November is the Charity Eisteddfod.
