In Year 11 Epping Boys' High School publishes a subject information book, known as Preliminary and HSC Courses, as well as , the Preliminary Assessment Booklet.  The Preliminary and HSC Courses Booklet contains detailed information on the senior courses offered at Epping Boys' High.  It also outlines requirements for the award of the HSC, introduces the UAI, explains assessment and reporting procedures, contains useful contacts and important and necessary information.  This booklet is distributed to each Year 10 student prior to commencement of studies in Year 11.

The Preliminary Assessment Booklet contains an overview of the topics taught in each course, the assessment weighting for each task and when each task is due.

A similar booklet is published for Year 12, titled Higher School Certificate Assessment.  As in the Year 11 Preliminary Assessment Booklet, the Year 12 booklet contains an overview of the topics taught in each course, the assessment weighting for each task and when each task is due.  It is a detailed booklet covering such topics as requirements for the award of the HSC, assessment program, examination procedures, student responsibilities, school responsibilities, Universities Admission Index, and how to prepare for examinations and participate in effective study.
