The major outcomes of the program include:

  • Increase knowledge and skills in PDHPE;
  • Increased student awareness of the risks and consequences of drug and alcohol use;
  • Enhancement of personal relationships including self-esteem.

Students are offered and complete a wide variety of activities over the seven to eight days of the program.  These include:

  • Mandatory seminar on sexually transmitted infections and AIDS;
  • Mandatory seminar on drug and alcohol use and abuse;
  • Driver Education and training at Eastern Creek;

  • First Aid certification, bushwalking and Taronga Zoo tours, surfing, swimming, golf and indoor sports activities.

The Crossroads Program will operate from late November until early December.  The costs of the mandatory aspects of the program are met by the school.  Depending on student choices the total cost ranges from nil to $160.  These costs are clearly indicated on the choice list which will be distributed to all Year 10 students in September.
