History Computer Room Policy

The facilities in the History Computer Room are provided for students, so that you may:

              -  Develop and practice skills in information technology

              -  Demonstrate competencies within the various History syllabi

              -  Enjoy learning in an interactive environment

There are ICT components in ALL syllabi, requiring students to demonstrate skills in word processing and using the internet for research purposes. The assessment programs for each year have built in ICT components. Students will be required to submit some work to teachers in a paper-based format and other electronic format.

The History intranet site has been set up to support students’ learning for all years. There are research support facilities, and word processing activities to help students both gather information, and to demonstrate their skills and knowledge.

Students will be able to save their work into their folders. They will be required to set up specific folders for their History subjects. This will make it impossible for work to be lost, or for printers to fail.

For all students at Epping Boys’ High School to gain these benefits, each student needs to act responsibly in the room.

  • Internet games, chat sessions, and other games will not be allowed.
  • Any student(s) who tamper(s) with the equipment (hardware), or the system and programs (software), threatens the learning of ALL, and the opportunity of ALL to demonstrate mandated competencies.

These facilities have been developed, and are maintained through the School Fees paid by parents/guardians each year.
